An Embedded System is designed to perform a specific function and is a combination of hardware and software.
Each Embedded System is unique, and the hardware as well as software is highly specialized to the application domain Embedded system has become an essential part of any product or equipment in all fields including Telecommunications, Medical, Industrial, Consumer products etc.
The Embedded System Group of Kiona, Bangalore coordinates the training and consultancy activities of the Center in the embedded system design field. Our mission is to provide high quality, industry-focused Embedded Design services and training to the professionals, students etc.
Electronic companies are under pressure to produce complex IC devices with first-time success, in order to accommodate shortening product life cycles for consumer products. Competitiveness is dependent upon supplying the market with devices that provide the right functions at the right price, as consumers continue to demand increasingly sophisticated and smaller electronic products with greater functionality and power.
In this constantly changing environment, design engineers must have a solid grasp of new subjects, and be able to respond quickly to new demands. This requires a broad-based range of skills, embracing software and analogue and digital hardware coupled with an understanding of the architectural principles of modern electronic systems and the opportunities and constraints of chip technology – quite a challenge for any engineer to keep up-to-date with.
Kiona has responded to this challenge by offering a program of flexible training options on a continuing professional development basis.

| The institute is 4000 sq. feet of Area. It is fully residential in nature and hence is a self-contained unit. The building has the lecture halls, tutorial rooms, computer and electronics labs and offices of the administration and faculty. |

| The Company has well-equipped air-conditioned computer laboratories which are allocated batch wise to students. The labs are equipped with the latest in both hardware and software. The PC to students ratio is 1:3. All terminals are part of an intranet (1 Gbps Backbone). The Company has high bandwidth (5 Mbps) Internet connectivity round the clock. Researchers have 24 hours access to the computational facilities. The trainees administer their own computer systems. |

Kiona has 24/7 Lab and state-of-the-art facilities for high-end VLSI, Programmable Logic and system design training. Facilities include modular classrooms, fully networked and web-enabled Unix and Linux workstations for every student apart from high end Windows based systems. It is also equipped with complete suite of EDA tools from Model Technology, It currently offers a wide range of courses ranging from HDL (VHDL/Verilog), Verification methodologies, DFT, ASIC /FPGA design, EDA Tools and domain specific training.
